Micro Rocket Launchpad - LEGO® Exclusive 40712

Released : 2024

New and sealed box.

Blast off into the golden age of LEGO® space exploration with LEGO 40712 Micro Rocket Launchpad! This charming and highly collectible set pays tribute to the iconic Classic Space era of LEGO®, recreating several beloved space vehicles and structures in an appealing microscale format.

Originally released as a promotional LEGO® set, the 325-piece Micro Rocket Launchpad is designed for builders aged 9 and up and is particularly appealing to nostalgic adult LEGO® fans and collectors.

🚀 A Celebration of Classic LEGO Space

LEGO 40712 brings together four different microscale space models, inspired by classic LEGO® Space sets from the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The collection includes:

- A rocket and launchpad

- A space station

- A rocket transport vehicle

- A classic-style spaceship

The designs take inspiration from iconic sets including Alpha Rocket Base (483), Mobile Rocket Transport (6950) and Space Patrol (6803). Rather than simply reproducing one vintage set, LEGO® combines elements from several classic designs into a compact display and play experience.

👨🚀 Two Micro Space Characters

Adding even more personality to the set are two tiny space characters, dressed in classic-style space suits and helmets.

These micro astronauts can be positioned inside the various vehicles and space structures, allowing builders to create their own miniature space missions. The figures feature the instantly recognisable Classic Space aesthetic, making them particularly attractive to collectors who appreciate LEGO®'s space history.

🧱 A Fun 325-Piece Build

With 325 pieces, LEGO® 40712 offers an engaging building experience without becoming an overly lengthy project. The microscale construction also provides an interesting challenge for experienced builders, as familiar LEGO® Space shapes and functions have been recreated using much smaller elements.

The main launchpad measures over 15 cm (5.5 in.) high, giving the finished display more presence than its compact microscale vehicles might suggest.

⭐ A Must-Have for Classic Space Fans

The biggest attraction of LEGO® 40712 is its nostalgic appeal. The set captures the spirit of LEGO®'s early space themes while presenting them in a fresh microscale format.

For adult fans of LEGO®, it provides a fun reminder of the classic sets that helped establish LEGO® Space as one of the company's most memorable themes. For younger builders, it offers an introduction to the visual language of vintage LEGO® Space while still providing plenty of opportunities for imaginative play.

As a limited promotional/Gift-with-Purchase set, 40712 also has strong appeal for LEGO® collectors. It was originally offered with qualifying LEGO® purchases, making it a particularly interesting addition to a collection of promotional and Classic Space-inspired sets.
