New and sealed box.

Embark on an extraordinary journey into space with the LEGO® Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket (42221)! Inspired by NASA’s ambitious Artemis programme, this impressive building set lets young space enthusiasts discover the engineering behind one of the most powerful rockets designed for lunar exploration.

With 632 LEGO® pieces, an innovative launch mechanism and an impressive finished height of over 70 cm, this educational set combines hands-on construction, interactive play and an eye-catching display model. Designed for children aged 9 and up, it is a fantastic way to explore the science of space travel.

🚀 Recreate a Rocket Launch

Experience the excitement of a rocket launch with an ingenious mechanism operated by a hand crank. Turn the crank to demonstrate the rocket’s three-stage separation sequence:

- Stage 1 – Booster separation: Watch the solid rocket boosters separate from the rocket’s core stage.

- Stage 2 – Core stage separation: See the core stage detach as the launch sequence progresses.

- Stage 3 – Upper stage separation: Discover the upper stage, featuring the engine module, Orion spacecraft and launch abort system.

This interactive feature makes the set an engaging introduction to the engineering principles behind real space launches.

🌕 Inspired by NASA’s Artemis Programme

Developed in collaboration with NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA), this LEGO® Technic model recreates the Space Launch System used in plans to send the Orion spacecraft towards lunar orbit.

Young builders can explore the design of a modern space launch vehicle while learning about rocket stages, spacecraft components and the technology involved in space exploration.

👨🚀 Includes Four Astronaut Nanofigures

The set includes four astronaut nanofigures, adding an extra dimension to imaginative space adventures. An information panel completes the display, making it easy to showcase the rocket and explore the mission-inspired details.

🧱 An Exciting STEM Building Experience

With 632 pieces, this set offers a rewarding construction project for curious builders. Its mechanical functions encourage an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), while the interactive launch sequence helps demonstrate how rocket stages separate during flight.

The LEGO® Builder app also offers digital building instructions, allowing builders to zoom in, rotate the model in 3D and track their progress.

🏆 An Impressive Space Display

Once assembled, the NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket stands over 70 cm tall, making it a striking centrepiece for a bedroom, study or space-themed collection. Its tall profile, technical details and launch mechanism make it equally appealing for hands-on demonstrations and display.
